Within MERCURY Dr Camroux focuses empirically on the EU’s relations with East Asia and theoretically on concepts of interregionalism and asymmetrical bilateralism.

Dr Camroux is Senior Research Associate within the Centre d'Études et de Recherches Internationales (CERI). At Sciences Po he is also a Senior Lecturer seconded to the Institut d'Études Politiques (IEP) in Paris where he teaches on contemporary Southeast Asian society. He is also a Visiting Professor at Yonsei University (Seoul), Keio University (Tokyo) and the University of Malaya where he conducts courses on comparative regional integration between Europe and Asia.
Dr Camroux studied for his first degree at the University of Sydney and his doctorate in Paris at the Sorbonne. He is the author of numerous articles on Southeast Asian politics and history and has published widely on EU-Asian relations. Following the completion of a co-authored manuscript on “Islamic anticolonialism” in southern Thailand he is at present preparing a book on foreign relations, nationalism and regionalism in Southeast Asia.
